How we work
With studios in London and Dublin, our culture is open-minded and collaborative. We listen to understand, share our knowledge generously, and value genuine teamwork. Our work is guided by a rigorous approach and coherent dialogue, creating places that are thoughtful, creative, engaging, and distinctive. We aim to work closely with communities and context to deliver enduring places.
We strive to be a trusted, original, and responsible voice in architecture and urbanism — stimulating to work for and engaging to work with. By reflecting on what we create, we continually learn lessons that shape our future projects.
From the beginning, we set out to practice architecture differently. We wanted to create buildings and places that are more useful, more beautiful, and more inspiring. To achieve this, we knew we needed a better process — one that draws on the full spectrum of society’s talent.
We saw that collaboration and creative exchange had to be recognized as central to the design process, and that embracing this approach was essential for architecture and urbanism to evolve. Our designs emerge from close engagement with clients and their briefs, which we often help to shape. They are also informed by a detailed understanding of the physical, cultural, and economic context — the very nature of place.
Our goal has always been to take on complex and challenging circumstances and turn them into opportunities for better, more meaningful outcomes. We engage with communities to ensure projects are grounded in real needs and can succeed sustainably. As designers, we put people’s needs first, seeking to understand them fully and resolve challenges through design rather than ignoring them.
Working this way produces solutions that go beyond expectations.
We adopt an open, iterative process to engage clients through proven methods — models, analytical drawings, sketches, workshops, and optioneering in a way that is enjoyable, stimulating, and adds real value.
This approach allows clients to explore ideas and actively contribute to the process, helping to ensure integrity and coherence across our masterplanning, architecture, and interior projects.
