St. Teresa’s Gardens

Dublin

The redevelopment of the former St. Teresa’s Gardens in Dublin 8 will deliver 543 social and cost-rental homes as part of a sustainable new neighbourhood led by Metropolitan Workshop for the Land Development Agency in partnership with Dublin City Council.

The 1.74-hectare scheme combines a range of housing types with community facilities, including a crèche, care/retail space, a mobility hub, and generous public and resident open spaces. At its heart, Donore Project Park creates new pedestrian and cycling connections between Donore Avenue, South Circular Road, and Cork Street.

Developed through an extensive community engagement process, the design responds to its historic context with a coordinated architectural approach, using varied brick detailing and carefully considered massing across four urban blocks. The project establishes a well-connected, mixed-tenure neighbourhood that supports active living, urban greening, and long-term community growth.
